I was a Mathematics and Computer Science professor at Mt. San Antonio College from 2001 to 2023.  I started as a part-time professor and was hired as a full-time professor in 2002.  I have always enjoyed teaching mathematics and computer science.  My first experience with teaching math was while I was a student at Cal Poly Pomona.  I was a tutor for the Educational Opportunity Program from 1993-1997.  From the first student I tutored, I thoroughly enjoyed teaching a subject that I found fascinating.  Over the years, I have learned that it is not only important to show how to do math, but that it is very important to show why math works.

I earned a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics and a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science from Cal Poly Pomona in 1997.  I earned a Masters Degree in Mathematics from UC Riverside in 1998.

I married the love of my life and my best friend, Jackie, in 2004.  Jackie is a very warm, kind, beautiful, sweet, and caring woman.  We love traveling.  We were very fortunate to spend six weeks in Seville, Spain during the summer of 2006.  Jackie had to study abroad as a requirement for graduation and I just had to go with her. During our time in Spain, we also visited Madrid, Granada, Toledo, Cadiz, and spent a weekend in Morocco.  It was definitely the experience of a lifetime for us to be able to live in Spain for that amount of time.  We definitely want to visit Seville again and also to visit the other cities in Spain we unable to while there.  We also enjoy watching movies, trying out new restaurants, and planning our next traveling adventure.

We have a beautiful son, Isaac.  It is so enjoyable watching him grow.  He is filled with great curiosity.  We see him looking around and observing everything going on around him.  One thing my wife and I have noticed is that he loves numbers!  He loves to count and looks for numbers whenever he can.  We are excited to teach him about so many things.  He is such a blessing in our lives.

I enjoy gaming.  I spend most of my gaming time on the PS5 but I do play on Steam occasionally. Both my PSN ID and Steam ID is Zzyzx42.  I play pretty much anything, but recently I have thoroughly enjoyed The Last of Us (Parts I and II), Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider-Man, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Ghosts of Tsushima, Death Stranding, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, all the Arkham games, God of War (all of them), and Ratchet and Clank (all of them, especially the most recent Rift Apart).
